Algeria in grado di assicurare il completamento dei progetti nell’area euromediterranea
Il nuovo Segretario Generale (SG) dell’Unione per il Mediterraneo (UpM), Nacer Kamel, ha dichiarato lunedì che l’Algeria svolge “un ruolo pionieristico” nella regione euromediterranea, in grado di contribuire al completamento dei progetti in questa area.
“L’Algeria è un paese cruciale, in grado di contribuire al completamento di qualsiasi progetto nell’area euro-mediterranea”, ha sottolineato il SG dell’UPM in una dichiarazione alla stampa dopo l’audizione concessa dal ministro degli Esteri Abdelkader Messahel, aggiungendo che “l’UPM o qualsiasi altro progetto di cooperazione mediterranea non potrebbe avere successo senza il coinvolgimento dell’Algeria”.
In questo contesto ha rilevato il ruolo occupato dall’Algeria in quanto importante paese mediterraneo che svolge un ruolo di primo piano” aggiungendo che “non è possibile parlare dell’UF senza l’Algeria”.
Qualsiasi dibattito sull’area euromediterranea o sull’UPM passa attraverso i rapporti “amichevoli” tra il Nord e il Sud, una partnership che deve tenere conto degli “interessi di entrambe le parti”.
In questa occasione, il nuovo SG dell’UMM ha accolto favorevolmente il sostegno dell’Algeria alla sua candidatura, esprimendo la sua determinazione a coinvolgere l’Algeria in qualsiasi progetto euromediterraneo.
L’ospite algerino ha inoltre parlato della questione migratoria, sottolineando che i paesi del Sud del Mediterraneo sono diventati paesi di transito e accoglienza dei migranti.
Ha anche sottolineato la necessità di cooperare al fine di realizzare uno sviluppo economico che permetta di lottare contre tale fenomeno.
