Incontro dell’Ambasciatore d’Algeria a Roma con gli studenti del “Dipartimento Algeria” del liceo James Joyce di Ariccia
Nell’ambito del progetto “Diplomacy education” promosso dall’Associazione Global Action, S.E l’Ambasciatore Abdelhamid SENOUCI BEREKSI ha ospitato il 22 giugno 2018 un gruppo di alunni del Liceo James Joyce di Ariccia nella sala Algeria situata presso la sede del Fondo Internazionale per lo Sviluppo Agricolo.
Questa iniziativa ha lo scopo di dare agli studenti l’opportunità di conoscere le funzioni dell’Ambasciata nelle agenzie delle Nazioni Unite a Roma, nonché di identificare le funzioni del Fondo e il modo in cui opera.
Durante questo incontro, un funzionario del Fondo ha presentato i compiti e i poteri dell’Istituito creato nel 1977 per rispondere a una delle crisi alimentari più importanti nel mondo.
L’Algeria è stato uno dei primi paesi ad avervi aderito e appoggiato l’iniziativa a sostegno delle aree rurali di tutto il mondo.
L’Ambasciatore ha anche messo l’accento sui rapporti eccezionali tra l’Algeria e l’Istituzione e citato alcune delle priorità fissate dall’Algeria, tenuto conto dell’importanza del continente africano, del degrado ambientale, dello sviluppo e della regione del Sahel.
D’altra parte, gli studenti hanno espresso la loro gratitudine all’Ambasciatore per l’impegno che ha profuso al fine di coinvolgerli in molti campi (storia, costumi, tradizioni, arte, musica, letteratura, ecc.) e per aver posto l’accento sulla differenza come fattore di arricchimento reciproco e non come fattore di paura e di autoisolamento.
Gli studenti hanno altresì sottolineato che questa esperienza ha dato loro l’opportunità di conoscere i fattori economici e culturali storici condivisi tra l’Algeria e l’Italia, e espresso la loro convinzione sull’importanza della comunicazione e dell’apertura verso il mondo esterno e le diverse culture.
In questa occasione, l’Ambasciatore ha ringraziata i funzionari del Fondo internazionale per lo Sviluppo Agricolo per aver ospitato questo incontro, la signora Yasmina Barka e la signora Alessandra Susie, nonché i rappresentanti dell’Associazione Global Action e tutti i professori e gli studenti di Aricia.
L’Ambasciata intende rinnovare ed espandere tali iniziative in futuro.
